Deon brings with him a wealth of experience having spent 3 decades in financial services within the Sanlam Group. Over this period, he has held various positions in the Sanlam Life Actuarial division gaining experience in policy values, systems control, pricing, experience investigations and valuations. In 2013, he was appointed as Group Risk Actuary for Sanlam Employee Benefits, and he then joined the Sanlam Corporate Exco where he headed up Actuarial and Governance. Deon was appointed as CFO for Sanlam Corporate in August 2022.

Deon is a qualified Actuary and Fellow Member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (FASSA).
